E N T STREET DREAMS 050512 PRESS RELEASE

PRESS RELEASE

05 05 2012 Wellington NZ

Rangi Recordings are proud to announce the release of Street Dreams, the new 8 track LP from solo artist E N T (Nathan Taare). This is the third release from Nathan but is the debut album under his new pseudonym E N T.

Recorded in Wellington at STL audio, Street Dreams is the culmination of a 2 year writing curve for Nathan, riddled with visions and angst of life living in the suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand and Berlin, Germany, where most of the riffs were originally conceived. From the heights of the intense opener Don’t Get Caught, the album wells with emotion and solitary, fortified calls for healing and unity through tracks like Gastro and Eternal Blitz. With a running time of approx 35 minutes, the album churns, floats and crashes from the speakers and is recommended for all fans of good music.

Nathan is currently assembling a band to perform the album in its entirety. This will be the first time he has performed live with this act and he says you can expect an ”intense sensory overload”.

Street Dreams is available online through Bandcamp and will be available from ITunes mid June 2012. Limited edition CDs will be available from mid June also. For review copies or additional information please email rangi@rangirecordings.com

BIO
E N T is the solo project of Wellington artist Nathan Taare, a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer, producer and film maker who prefers to work in solitary confinement in the suburbs. Nathan was recently living in Berlin where he was performing solo and writing music under the name Newman Tropic but he has now changed the name to E N T. He has made a musical release every May 5th since 2010 and plans to carry on the trend of yearly releases. Having travelled extensively, Nathan is now based in Wellington, where his work in film can bleed into his music. Along with nature and the suburbs, themes of healing and identity can be found in his songs, permeating deep into his hypnotic, repetitive visions. Growing up in the Hutt Valley, Nathan has always sought bigger horizons for his sunsets, and work is underway to temporarily transplant his creative process to sun drenched, drug war torn Mexico for a new recording.
